I just don’t want to look back and think “I could have eaten that.”
I started this blog in 2013 after I noticed ALL of my Instagram pictures were of food...
My name is Cathalee. I am a second generation Thai-American and I live in Dallas, Texas. I’m a food blogger by night and part of “corporate America” by day. However, I’m still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. Now that I’m in my late 30’s I hope I’m close to figuring it out.
I speak fluent Thai, American, English, Engrish and basic French. When I say basic French, I mean BASIC. It’s sad that 4 years of high school French only got me to tourist level. I’m also trying to learn Korean. I can pretty much order food at a restaurant and ask where the restroom is. 🙂 Although, food alone is enough to learn another language, that’s not why I’m trying to learn Korean. After years of watching K-dramas, I thought it would be a good idea to learn the language instead of trying to keep up with the subtitles. I want to be able to rest my eyes during a 16 hour K-drama marathon without getting lost.
I love looking through cookbooks, watching shows about food (anything with Anthony Bourdain or Andrew Zimmern to be exact) and of course, eating. This isn’t your normal food blog. It’s not all recipes. I will post them from time to time, but I’m more of an eater. I got the idea for this blog after posting a bunch of pictures on Instagram. I think I actually get a high from looking at pictures of delicious food.
I am no chef. I can cook, but I don’t count it as something that I’m good at. I do it out of necessity, but I prefer it if someone else did all the heavy lifting.
I love trying new things. I like doing restaurant reviews, but have no plans on doing posts on places I do not enjoy or had bad experiences. Why? Becuase everyones experiences are different. I’m not here to bad mouth or deter anyone from trying new foods or restaurants. You have to experience them for yourself!
I have a weakness for Asian food of all kinds so you’ll have to forgive me if the majority of the pictures on this blog are from the east. It’s just so good, I can’t help myself! I take all of my photos with my iPhone (versions include 5, 6 and X). Maybe one day I will be professional enough to upgrade to a fancy camera, but for now my phone will do just fine. If you use any of my pictures please be sure to link back to my website.
