I just don’t want to look back and think “I could have eaten that.”

Food Share – Treats from Phoenix

My sister was in Phoenix a few weeks back and she brought me some Arizona treats that were made especially for a shop called Bischoff’s Shades of the West. I’m not normally a sweets kind of girl, but I was pretty excited to try my souvenirs.

As you can see I have prickly pear licorice, jalapeño chocolate and prickly pear chocolate. The prickly pear licorice is really good. I don’t know what prickly pear is supposed to taste like, but it reminds me of a tart fruit… Is that what it’s suppose to taste like? At least that’s the impression I get from the licorice.

Look at how pretty the chocolates are. Thick bars of it.

The milk chocolate had a prickly pear filling in it. Can you see it? The chocolate was amazing. Really delicious. The prickly pear filling was super sweet though. The taste reminded me of fruity gum… It’s hard to describe, but that’s the first thing that came to my mind when I ate a piece. It was too sweet for me, but a lot of people enjoyed it.

The jalapeño chocolate did not have a filling. The jalapeño was mixed into the chocolate. Like the prickly pear option, the dark chocolate was amazing. Dark chocolate is my favorite. The jalapeño totally sneaks up on you though. It starts all fine and then the heat from the pepper comes out of nowhere and gets you right in the throat. It’s a trip.

So, thank you to my sister for getting me these yummy treats. It was amazing. If you have an opportunity to try these sweets then you definitely should!
